This is truly disturbing information. I remember the Pope to be one of the instrumental forces in kicking out the Soviets from Eastern Europe in the 1980's and early '90's. I'm beginning to wonder if the "infallible" head of the Catholic Church has completely lost his marbles.

"Bow to the will of the people?" More like bow to the will of the communist sympathizers in Italy, who seem to have forgotten that it was because of Americans spilling their blood that Italy became a free country.

Has the Pope gone lefty on us? If this is to be the direction of the Catholic Church, which is, after all, an offshoot of Judiasm, then many Catholics may soon be rethinking their affiliation.

I'm already rethinking how much I pay in tithes at this point. If this Church is going to back the wrong horse in this war, I don't want them to get any more of my cash. I'd rather pay it directly to the IDF. I'll at least have the satisfaction of knowing that people who fight for freedom are the recipients of my hard earned cash.

So, let's take a look at the incident. A reporter for an Italian Communist fishwrap is taken hostage in Iraq by insurgents (I have my suspicions about her "hostage" status, by the way), and a month of negotiations take place to win her freedom. She's finally freed by the insurgents, and while she is returning from her nightmare, she runs straight into a brand new one. Her car comes under fire from American troops, killing the Italian Intelligence officer that won her freedom, wounding another, and wounding the reporter in the fracas.

I have a very hard time buying into all of this. Of course, the MSM, in it's impartiality, makes the US Troops out to be the instigators of the whole thing, but let's take a look at the information we have seen thus far.

According to witnesses, the Italians were speeding towards a US checkpoint near the Baghdad airport. The driver ignored hand signals to stop, ignored arm signals, and even ignored flashing lights and warning shots. Folks, these are uniformed US soldiers! It's not like they were dressed in jeans and t-shirts. The soldiers are easily recognnized! Only after all of the warnings and signals were ignored, the order to fire was given in order to stop the vehicle. Soldiers shot into the engine block, and apparently, stray fire entered the passenger compartment of the car.

One dead, and two injured. This could have all been avoided, but the Italians, who up to this point had been working closely with American Intelligence to win the hostage's release, didn't even coodinate or inform the Americans that the hostage had been released! What kind of lunacy is this?

Like I said, I have my suspicions. I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist, but I wonder if the whole incident was staged by someone with an agenda. It's not like this reporter was any great friend of the United States.

But in an age when violent offenders are sent to work camps, and even more lenient sentences are handed out to wifebeaters and other miscreants, it seems that any jail time for a 63 year old woman was a stupid idea.

The US Supreme Court (well, five morons who happened to be lucky enough to be chosen, anyway) gives a free pass to Kids who Kill, and allow grandmas who lie to federal agents to be sent to prison. Yep, our government is out there protecting us from women who dump shitty stocks, while your grandma is being killed by brats whose parents never learned to keep their kids in line. Color me impressed.

The Ten Commandments

I find it interesting that a bum(what you people call homeless) is now arguing before the USSC about whether the Ten Commandments should be allowed to remain on the capitol grounds in Austin, TX.

In case you are all wondering, the United States Constitution includes a series of Amendments called the Bill of Rights. This series includes something called the First Amendment, which we will show to you here:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Note here that the amendment says that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...

This means, quite correctly, that the legislative branch cannot establish a state religion. That means that it is against federal law to force you to pray to my God. It is also against the federal law for you to stop me from praying to my God.

It says not one thing about allowing a civilization document to be represented anywhere in this country. The Ten Commandments, whether given by God or devised by man, is the cornerstone of Western Civilization. It is the basis by which we all live our lives (or are supposed to anyway).

To refresh your memory, let me give you my copy of the Ten Commandments here:

I am the LORD your God, you shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not take the Name of the LORD your God in vain.

Keep holy the Sabbath day.

Honor your father and your mother.

You shall not kill.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

Now, I don't expect that everyone follows these. I do expect that people understand that this is a civilizational document; that is, Westen civilization was developed around these simple rules. If these had not been developed,it is entirely possible that civilization would never have been born. We would be busy killing, raping and stealing our lives away on a grand scale.

To display these is not always an endorsement of religion; it is a simple statement of some of the earliest law of man.

Is there a God? Of course, the only way we will know is after we die. I'm not about to push religion on any of you.

Must we be civilized? Absolutely. Otherwise, we humans would have killed ourselves off long ago.

Bush scolds Russia's Putin

There are those that think that the cold war ended with the implosion of the old Soviet Union. Now we see the reversion to the old Kremlin controlled centralized state. Putin is still the old style Soviet Hack we imagined him to be when he first won election to the Russian Presidency.

Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman have both asked for Russia's removal from the G-8 due to Putin's abuses of democracy and political freedom.

Episodes like this prove that replicating American style democracy in non-western nations is a difficult and dangerous process. Successful western style democracies in other parts of the world are rare, and always face the danger of revolution and the occasional military led coup d etat.

Should we then, NOT try to export democracy? No. Nobody ever said that spreading western style democracy would be easy, especially with the thugs and idiots out in other parts of the world. Those who promote a Mafia style government will always have more power in the short term. We have to continue to press for democracy. Even if it is difficult. People are meant to live in freedom, not tyranny.

That means their effective tax rate was a whopping 12.8%.... "Under the current tax system the middle class pays far more than the Kerry tax rate. In fact, the average federal tax rate -- combined payroll and income tax -- for a middle-class family is closer to 20% or more. George W. and Laura Bush, who had an income one- tenth of the Kerrys', paid a tax rate of 30%. ... "Here is the man who finds clever ways to reduce his own tax liability while voting for higher taxes on the middle class dozens of times in his Senate career. When he decides to show up for Senate Sessions and committee meetings, he sends up rediculous ideas, such as cutting intelligence RIGHT AFTER the first WTC bombing in 1993. He votes to cut defense spending, he votes against our troops getting the equipment and funds with which to fight in Iraq.

Why are we even CONSIDERING this dolt for President? Tax policies? He'll raise your taxes. If you think he won't, then you're drinking the Kool-Aid.

Think he'll somehow get Frawnce and Deutschland to somehow work with us on Iraq? Think again. Those two "allies" have already gone on record that they will not help us. Why should they? We cut off their bribe money (as if there was a doubt?) from Saddam Hussein.

Think he'll magically create jobs in America? Name one policy that he would enact that would create jobs. He spouts this nice protectionist claptrap, but in the end, HE wants to outsource jobs too.

Upset about the 17% increase in Medicare premiums? Guess what? John Kerry voted FOR the increase back in 1997, as a part of the "Save Medicare" crisis that loomed over the program.

Archbishop Michel A. Sabbah, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, has an interest in the advancement of the Palestinian people (wow. didn't even know they had a country!) He accuses the Israelis of not willing to work towards a real peace between the two peoples. He states that there are "individuals" in the Palestinian areas who are working independent of the "government" to promote terrorism, but that Israel is promoting violence. He also condemns the seperation barrier as unjust. I'd love to have a link to this, but he spoke at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, and all attempts to find this speech on their websit have been fruitless. The information was published in the San Antonio Archdiocesan Newspaper, Today's Catholic, which appears to not have any presence on the internet.

This is why I refuse to acknowledge the infallibility of the Pope. He must have been drinking something the day he decided to let this moonbat become an Archbishop.

I cannot find any instance if the IDF intentionally targeting innocent people. I cannot find ONE instance of a suicide bomber that DIDN'T target civilians.

What truly disturbs me is that the Catholic Church is, in reality, simply an offshoot of Judaism. We condemn our own brothers for self defense. This is not MY Catholic Faith.

For a very long time now, the average American hasn't placed a whole lot of trust in the mainstream media. In recent memory, wev'e had the tailwind scandal, the fake Hitler diaries, the Jayson Blair plaigarism, the Dateline NBC Chevy truck fiasco, Chris Matthews (anytime), and now we have Dan Rather aiding and abetting in a government document forgery. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Rather insists thast the documents are genuine. Never mind the fact that the "source" cited claims the documents are fake, never mind the fact that the documents have been scoured by several experts and discredited as fakes, never mind that the typewriter that supposedly created the documents doesn't freaking exist. Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs has proven, extensively, that the documents are fake.

Dan Rather needs to come clean. He knows he's been caught. The only question is when will he admit the botched attempt at stealing the election for Kerry?

GETTING OUT OF IRAQ
Bush, headed for a Labor Day swing into the battleground state of Missouri, accused his rival of changing his position on Iraq after bringing in new advisers to boost his campaign.
``After voting for the war but against funding it, after saying he would have voted for the war even knowing everything we know today, my opponent woke up this morning with new campaign advisers and yet another new position. Suddenly he's against it again,'' Bush said in remarks prepared for delivery at a campaign rally in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Koch backing Bush for re-election

Apparently, former NYC mayor Ed Koch is refusing to drink the Kerry Koolaid. He's backing Bush for re-election. In a piece in The Boston Globe, Koch outlines his reasoning for backing Bush,

"I've never before supported a Republican for president," Koch told me last week. "But I'm doing so this time because of the one issue that trumps everything else: international terrorism. In my judgment, the Democratic Party just doesn't have the stomach to stand up to the terrorists. But Bush is a fighter."

Koch was surprised and impressed by Bush's resolve after Sept. 11. "He announced the Bush Doctrine -- he said we would go after the terrorists and the countries that harbor them. And he's kept his word." Koch doubts that the leadership of his own party could have mustered the grit to topple the Taliban or drive Saddam Hussein from power, let alone to press on in what is going to be a long and grinding conflict.

"Already, most of the world is caving. If you didn't have Bush standing there, you'd have everybody following Spain and the Philippines" in retreat, he says, trying to appease the terrorists instead of fighting them.

Repeatedly throughout his campaign, Kerry has held up Hudson resident Mary Ann Knowles as an example of President Bush’s failure to ensure adequate health care for all Americans (as if a President can do such a thing). Here is what he said during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention last month:
“What does it mean when Mary Ann Knowles, a woman with breast cancer I met in New Hampshire, had to keep working day after day right through her chemotherapy, no matter how sick she felt, because she was terrified of losing her family’s health insurance? America can do better. And help is on the way.”
Thing is, Mary Ann Knowles did not have to work through her chemotherapy to keep her health insurance. In fact, she has great health insurance, which includes 26 weeks of paid disability leave.
Knowles chose to work through most, but not all, of her chemotherapy because her husband was out of a job. (Kerry said she had to work “every day” of her chemotherapy. His campaign chalked that lie up to “a colloquialism.”)
She and husband John did not want to take the pay cut that would have come with disability leave, so Mary Ann kept working. But that is not how Kerry tells the story. He deliberately misstates her situation, saying she would have lost her health coverage if she took a single day off.
When President Bush was given incorrect information, then innocently repeated it, the national press had a field day. In attacking the President, Michael Moore said it mattered not whether Bush knew the information was false before he repeated it; what mattered was that he uttered something that was not true. Well, here we have Kerry knowingly telling a false story in hopes of scaring people into voting for him. Where is the outrage?

Kerry says he won't tour Charley damage in Florida

HOOD RIVER, Ore. - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry does not plan to visit Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley because he's concerned his campaign entourage could distract from recovery efforts, he said Saturday.
President Bush plans a Sunday tour of areas hit by the hurricane. Bush declared a state of emergency at the request of his brother, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Kerry said he supports their efforts.
Kerry said he has instructed his Florida campaign staff to provide food, clothing, shelter or other assistance to people whose lives have been disrupted by the hurricane.
"For the moment, our focus is on all of the police and response personnel necessary not being diverted from a visitor and really focusing on the recovery itself," Kerry said.
"Teresa and I are really thinking about those folks and our prayers and our thoughts are with them in the next hours," he said. "And we hope very, very much that the recovery can proceed as rapidly as possible and lives can be put back together."

He doesn't want his campaign entourage to distract from recovery efforts? Sheesh, DON'T BRING THEM, YOU DUMBASS! You are right, though. The last thing Florida needs is your campaign entourage. So leave them at home. It's OK to do that you know...

"Whereas the existing and potential strength of nuclear weapons is such that nuclear war can neither be won nor survived, it can only be prevented; and Whereas the only effective defense against the horrors of nuclear weapons lies in their elimination and in the prevention of nuclear war or attacks, [the Commonwealth of Massachusetts] shall seek to ensure the safety of its citizens by pursuit of policies reflecting a serious commitment to prevention of nuclear war."
"Such policies," the Kerry directive continued, "shall include education of citizens concerning the real nature of nuclear war and efforts to influence national policy towards negotiation of an end to the nuclear-arms race."
The Kerry order stated emphatically, however: "No funds shall be expended by the Commonwealth for crisis relocation planning for nuclear war."

So it's probably no big surprise that I am throwing my support behind George W Bush for reelection this year. Maybe if the DemocRATs had bothered to send up Joe Lieberman (now that's a man with guts!), I would have been happy to look a little closer, but Kerry is just too much for me to take. This guy wants to be our President? Within minutes of Reagan getting shot, Al Haig declared himself to be "in control" of the White House. OK, so he didn't have "constitutional control," but he was the man in charge at that moment. Kerry votes against our troops, then has the gall to pronounce that "he voted for it before he voted against it.

Kerry married into money. Is this how he proposes we eliminate our budget deficit, by merging with Switzerland? Remember he did say he wanted the government run the same way as people in America run their households, right? OK, let's look at that for a second. Most folk in America DO run a deficit. It's called having a credit card. Or MORE than just "a" credit card. The average household in the US DOES run a deficit every month.

Why is it, whenever weird stuff goes on, it seems to come from San Francisco?

Kerry criticizes Bush for inaction on 9/11

Before a gathering of journalists in Washington, DC today, John Kerry criticized President Bush for his actions on 9-11-01 following the attack on the World Trade Center. Kerry blasted Bush for not acting swiftly, and instead choosing to sit with children in a Florida classroom.
"Had I been reading to children and had my top aide whispered in my ear, 'America is under attack,' I would have told those kids very politely and nicely that the president of the United States had something that he needed to attend to -- and I would have attended to it." (Like what, you moron?)

First, it's telling that Kerry is using Michael Moore's propaganda as a playbook in his campaign. This has a definite whiff of desperation about it.
Secondly, where exactly was John Kerry that morning when America was under attack, and what was he doing?
In an interview with Larry King on CNN, July 8, 2004, Sen. Kerry was asked where he was the morning of September 11th. Here is part of his response:
Kerry: "...And as I came in [to a meeting in Sen. Daschle's office], Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon..."

It should be noted that the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m., and the plane hit the Pentagon at 9:43 a.m. By Kerry's own words, he and his fellow senators sat there for forty minutes, realizing "nobody could think."

I lifted this from this blog and I wonder just what Kerry would have done in those 7 minutes, when apparently he was sitting on his hands for the better part of an hour.

Somebody please get this to a real news outlet.

In an interesting policy move, DemocRATic Presidential nominee John F'n Kerry has decided that it would be a GOOD thing to provide the Islamofascists of Iran with nuclear fuel. Don't believe me, here's the link and a small quote from MSNBC's website:

Noticed that the cinematographic blob, Michael Moore (what an appropriate name, since there is so much more of him than most people...) notes that he would not show up at the Crawford screening of "F9/11" cause he wanted people to see the film, and not be caught up in the hoopla if he showed up. More likely, he knew what would happen to his communist ass if he showed up in Crawford. He made movies about American's love of guns. Texans live, eat, drink, and breathe with the 2nd amendment in mind. Forget "Bowling for Columbine," Texans would play "shoot the blimp." Even at 50 yards, that fat ass would be hard to miss.

Teresa Heinz told a reporter to "shove it" after he asked her to clarify a remark she made in front of reporters. While I don't ordinarily mind people speaking their mind, I am not impressed that she made the remark RIGHT AFTER giving a talk about how there needs to be more "civility" in politics.

While we should all respect Ms. Heinz' right to voice her opinion, we should also wonder about the judgment of such an utterance. If not the judgment, maybe the timing?

Noticed that there's news ou there that some wealthy Palestinans (WTF? I thought they were all poor and downtrodden????) obtained concrete at rock bottom prices and are supplying the Israelis at a huge profit....for the alleged "apartheid" wall. Guess if you can live with the fact that your "poor and oppressed" population will probably flay you, then you should go for it. Personally, I think it's a great idea for Israel to build a barrier seperating their population from the Palestinian Suicide Squads. What I think is strange and hypocritical is the UN voting to try to force Israel to tear down the barrier. Especially when you consider that the UN is building barriers around its compound in NYC. I seem to remember that the President of the US, at the outset of the War on Terror, told all of us that the war would take many forms, some easily recognizable, others not so easily recognizable. We see that the anti-Bush morons are continually out in force, screaming their opinions in my ear at every opportunity. When I politely ask them to cease and desist, I get a look like I had jst violated their first amendment rights( not possible, as I don't hold any government post, and the first amendment prohibits the GOVERNMENT from restricting free speech).

I see that the L³ crowd thinks that it might be cute to try to disrupt the political conventions by smearing themselves with volatile materials(gunpowder, etc). Yeah, this is real smart. Make people with big dogs and guns mad. Real smart. Lemme know how it goes, idiots.

Call or email your local newspaper, ask them why they aren't carrying the editorial cartoons of Cox & Forkum These guys know how it goes. They pull no punches, and they definitely aren't part of the PC crowd.
